Amazing 1840s Photographs

Today, photography is the largest growing hobby in the world with the hardware alone creating a multi-billion dollar industry. But the history of photography begins far back in the 19th century. The oldest surviving permanent photograph of the image formed in a camera was created by Niépce in 1826 or 1827. Photography became an art form during the 1830s and became publicly recognised ten years later. Are you curious how the world looked like back then?
