Japanese Artist Turns Old Amazon Boxes Into Incredible Sculptures

Japanese artist Monomi Ohno has chosen an unusual work material – cardboard boxes from Amazon shipments. It would seem that nothing can be done with a plain cardboard box except putting in the trash, but she uses its full potential and turns it into amazing sculpture.

It all began during her studies at Osaka University of the Arts, where she decided to specialize in 3-D animation.  She decided to use the stash of empty Amazon boxes laying around to hone her 3D modeling skills on. What was supposed to be practice, has turned her into a cardboard artist. She makes literally everything. From tanks, rifles, and pop culture characters to even food. Take a look and share your thoughts below.
