UK’s Secret Underground Fuel Network That Helped Win WWII

A huge, little-known network of underground pipes spans the UK. Officially still a state secret, and bringing fuel to the plane that takes you on holiday. The underground pipelines were built in 1941 to ensure a steady supply of fuel to airports throughout the United Kingdom during the Second World War. The fuel network is still working.
